"The house was nice enough. That wasn't the problem. The ad was misleading. We were 1.5 miles from the indoor and outdoor pools. There were no walking paths or sidewalks to the pool. The lake was not Lake Lure and we were also over a mile from it as well. The amenities were charged per person and we were charged for 3 full days even though we arrived after pool closing and had to check out by 10 on Monday. Pretty disappointed overall. Won't stay there again."

"The photos on the Expedia are cherrypicked and quite deceptive. From the exterior, the building looks way worse than the photos reveal. Inside, the finishings and decor are quite dated, though the hallways to access the rooms and the rooms themselves are surprisingly clean. The entrances and stairwells aren't the cleanest. The building is old and settling. Hallway floorboards creak and lean this way and that. When you look up at the top of stairways, you can see the next level leaning this...

"The sheets and bed were clean. We had to clean the counters when we got there and the hot tub had some dirt in it but when I mentioned it to the staff they came and cleaned the hot tub. Besides that we had a great time and enjoyed the place"
