"Friendly and helpful staff"

"The Shangti-La is just a step up from other hotels. Yes, it's big and busy but the staff go out of their way to really spoil you. I'm vegan and they bent over backwards to ensure I had a great breakfast, sent soy milk to my room tweaked dishes so I ate well. And the location - oh my. We stayed in a garden room and could walk straight out looking at the sea. Room had a shower and a bath, was well stocked. Water in the fridge every day. Their Spa was great too. "This hotel is really magnificent and is a must-visit in Brunei. It is a pitty I did not have much time to spend there. I guess I can spend the whole day or even two days wandering around to take photos and to enjoy all the services. The only thing I did not like about it is a lady at the reception who helped us check out. It was kind of rude when she never said full sentences. For example, she would ask me "room?". "Initially my wife and I had a room that the A/C was a bit old and the room was hot but the staff were fast to fix the problem and our stay was amazing after that. The breakfast buffet doesn't have tons of options but they have the essentials and it was quite tasty. We particularly enjoyed how close it was to the cultural visit which was one of the options for picking this spot, only a 10 min walk from the hotel. Overall I would recommend people to stay here but it would be worth the upgrade of...
