"We thought the hotel in general and the room were amazing. We have stayed in nice hotels in different parts of the world and this was up there. The design touches all around the hotel were outstanding.
What let it down (and why we reduced a star) was being charged for parking (it was not a cheap booking) and the lack of EV charging points."

"The hotel was very tired and run down. There wasn’t a phone in the room, so we couldn’t call for ice or a new bath robe (as the one we had was dirty from a previous guest). The room was too hot and there wasn’t any air con. There was mould in the bathroom. The towels were supposed to be white but more greyish. The bar area was very pleasant, so was the swimming pool. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel really needs some TLC with the fixtures and fittings, as well as towels / dressing...

"This is a fine old achool hotel, with large clean rooms, and a friendly staff. The reception rooms and bar are nice, but while we were, were totally overrun by a wedding party.
The restaurant is okay. It is adjacent tobthe reception and the dinner is acceptable, but certainly not remarkable. Everything was a little overdone. The worst was the wedding, that had a performer signing full blast in the bar, and which was so loud the waiter could barely take our dinner order. It was extremely...

"Absolute fantastic place to stay, highly recommended with nothing to dislike. Credit to Rich, Ada and the team, felt home from home and part of their family. Knowledgeably about places to visit, eating out, parking. Nothing was a problem and owners on hand regular if anything needed. Definitely will return. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED."

"Lovely B&B with spacious, comfy room & bathroom, all spotless and containing everything we needed. Excellent breakfast with a good selection of bars and restaurants nearby for dinner. Easy walk from here down to Bowness. Easy check-in and advance breakfast ordering system but the icing on the cake were the lovely staff. Advised them we had just got quietly married and got back to find they’d decorated our bed! So sweet ❤️"
