"Staff were friendly. We opted out of housekeeping however we had to ask on the first morning for shower gel as there was none in the shower room, we were told they would get this refilled, unfortunatley when we left 3 days later we were still waiting for a refill. The toilet seat every time we sat on it, it would pop off its hinge, I tried fixing but it would not latch on, again this could not be "fixed" by the hotel, I asked if they could try a seat from another room to see if that fixed the...

"We stayed up on the first floor. Lovely old building with creaky stairs. Rooms were well equipped and comfortable. Bit of an issue with the water pipes which were very noisy (sounded like air in pipes). Had fans in rooms which were needed. Great choices for a cooked breakfast, which was cooked to perfection. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again."

"Room was dirty, scuffed paintwork, stained carpet, skirting boards thick with grime and dust, cobwebs and dead bugs (in the cobwebs) on the ceiling. Not to mention the previous guests dirty towels and sheets were left in a heap in the middle of the floor. At £200 per night excluding breakfast I expect much much better. Very disappointing."
