"I had a fantastic stay at John’s, the home is full of character, the decor is Victorian style and flows so well. Breakfast is excellent and I found myself taking pictures of the setting, its all a bit lavish and movie like. Its quite special. The junior suite is lovely, with a skylight over the bed from where you can see the stars at night in bed and a living room, with a good variety of teas! "The staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient. A wide range of tasty breakfast options was available and the evening meals in the White Tails restaurant were delicious. Our room was comfortable, well equipped and very clean. On the downside, the stairs were rather steep and corridors poorly lit. For tall visitors, many of the beams were hazardous; I have the scars to prove it!"

"A very pleasant stay in a nice hotel in a beautiful location. In the heart of the New Forest and miles of beautiful walks without needing to use your car to access them. Dining options very good with both the Conservatory and Armada restaurant serving very tasty food. The only issue was very slow service at breakfast - having ordered simple mains we waited over 45 for these to arrive - unacceptable for a simple breakfast service. Others arriving after us had left and finished before we were...

"The staff were perfect; so lovely and friendly. The food and drinks were incredible. But...the building is tired. The decor needs a revamp and the fixtures and fittings are in need of modernising. It's a real shame, because the staff are doing so much right, but the building itself needs a lot of investment. "

"The hotel was amazing, the room was a very good standard. The only let down was not being able to have dinner at the hotel. Only 2 out of the 3 Restaurants were open and it waa May Bank Holiday weekend. This meant going out to a local pub for dinner which is not what we wanted."

"We had a fantastic stay. The room was immaculate and I could use the lift to our room. (OA in knees) The shower was gorgeous. We came for a memorial which was in the chapel nearby and then refreshments at Buckners Hard. The staff were amazing and did very well, even though a bit understaffed for a while.
