"The staff at the retreat were very welcoming, helpful, and friendly. The room itself could have been cleaner, and it felt a bit run‑down with marks, scratches, stains, and general wear and tear that hadn’t been fixed. We had dinner at the Me‑Gal Restaurant and everything we ordered was delicious. Our waitress, Iman, was lovely, and the view from the restaurant was beautiful. The buffet breakfast, however, wasn’t as good and the staff there weren’t as friendly, though it was still fine...

"We really appreciated the restoration work here - they’ve kept the heritage feel of the hotel intact without making it feel dated. Despite being above a pub and right on a main road, the rooms were surprisingly quiet. Great location for exploring North Sydney. The common room and kitchen was a lovely surprise. The complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus that made mornings easy."
