"Terrible location if you don’t have a rental. Too far to walk to town or the beach and local taxis and Ubers are unfamiliar with its location in the sticks. No restaurants nearby. This is an eco lodge, meaning, no air conditioning, and boy will you miss hit. You will boil alive in your room. Staff provided an extra fan, which did little to help."

Issues we had (and hence 3 stars) are: rooms are very dark, very dim lighting, showers had no hot water half the time and when there was hot water then pressure in shower was very weak, dribble. "Points positifs : l'appartement est charmant, le jardin féérique, à proximité de la plage et d'un supermarché. Lico, le concierge est adorable et très serviable. Points négatifs : l'appartement est sale tant au niveau des draps que de la vaisselle et autres. Les moustiquaires sont trouées et cela ne pardonne pas. Pour le prix il n'y a pas de shampoing. Faire attention aux variations de prix sur les week-ends. Pour le prix, les prestations n'y sont pas... Dommage, le lieux pourrait être...

"Excellent staff and the property is reminiscent of a resort more so than a hotel/stay. Access to beach is extremely easy, attached to the backside of the property, though the beachfront is not 'developed' or 'set up' so do not expect a resort-like sun-chair set up. Excellent location if you want to be away from the hustle bustle of puerto viejo, but still biking distance to get to all the shops and cafes. Fabiano at the front desk, and Rosita for breakfast service, were both absolute delights and extremely helpful :)"
