"Beautiful heritage building, and our king room was fantastic. The staff was really helpful as we arrived very late after our flight got delayed several times in Halifax and didn't get info in St. John's until 1am. The lovely, sweet attendant even brought us ice as it was on the other side of the restaurant"

"Liked: room size and layout; easy parking and access; closet layout. Clean Disliked: room fan/ac/ heat was impossibly loud making it difficult to sleep- hear the tv or even carry on a conversation. (Room 406) -1 for that issue. Desk staff were unhelpful and not typical of my previous NL experiences. Over a 4 night stay, we engaged at check in/out and 3 questions - they couldn’t care less and were of no help."

"At arrival, once semi unpacked in our room the A/C didn't work. Had to change rooms and it was a long day traveling by car. Also A/C was not working through out the whole hotel. Very disappointing as it was on the pricey side to stay there."

"Wistful location and a beautiful room. Very large with a nice sitting area, decorated with a spa like touch. Very comfy bed, waffle towels and bathrobe. Local toiletries to make you feel connected to the area. Conveniently located across the street from one of the best restaurants in St John’s the Mallard Cottage. An authentic experience all around with a luxury touch!"

"Great Location! Breakfast was excellent with made-to-order selections. Our server, Fabiola, was courteous with excellent customer service. The hotel seemed dated, and the rooms were very small with terrible lighting. The rooms were dark."

"Outdated, many amenities out of order (chip and pop machines), rooms still have smoke smell despite being non-smoking, and incredibly overpriced for quality. Stayed another night a different hotel in same area for less money and much better quality."

"The check in staff was rocky, but upon speaking to another staff member it was taken care of. Hotel was wonderful, with wam breakfast, fun amenities. Along with a wonderful room."

"We had a spacious suite , unfortunately it was very dimly lit, and three nights in we found silver fish in two locations in our room. We alerted the manager , and on a 7 night stay was offered a $40 credit without an apology. After voicing my concern that they may have gotten into our suitcases, clothing , etc. His words were it is a dampness bug that usually doesn't climb. I told him we found one while we were sitting on the sofa and two on the kitchen counter which means they definitely ...

"Great for last minute overnight stay before catching a super early flight because of the proximity to the airport. Need a car to get to downtown, otherwise it’s a 40 min walk. Old-fashioned room with dated furniture."
