"I've stayed several times before: it's a big hotel but with character. It's vintage 1970s (I should say):dated but well-kept, and full of references to Garibaldi. The name relates to the 'Thousand' who set out with the General to unify Italy in the 19th Century (Bergamo claims that they came from there). There are restaurants 15 minutes walk away. The breakfast - included - is good and very varied, and the staff are friendly. And it has its own free car-park: I've used it in the past. ...

"Very friendly and helpful staff at check in.Always approachable and staff very welcoming at breakfast time.Nothing was a problem.We had an early check out and breakfast box’s were provided and a taxi booked to take us back to the airport approx €26.Room was clean and serviced every day.No hotel bar, but fridges with cold drinks available to purchase, and reasonably priced.We had a ground floor room 122 and no noise from the road or nearby station."

"Superb 1 night stay. Room was very spacious and spotlessly clean throughout, kitchenette was great (with bottles of still and sparkling water provided) and the bathroom was lovely with the best shower (great pressure and spacious). Would definitely stay here again if we return! "

"I stayed at Petronilla for 3 nights whilst holidaying with a friend. Our stay at the hotel was truly wonderful! It was a quick and easy 20 min taxi ride from the airport. The hotel is small and stylish and nestled in amongst a thriving array of shops and restaurants. The rooms are lovely, the beds are comfy and the shower was probably the best I've ever used in a hotel. The staff were absolutely charming; so friendly and helpful. "Great location, modern nicely decorated room. Previous occupants shampoo/conditioner were left in the showe which left us wondering how thoroughly cleaned the shower had been. The walls are very thin between rooms & unfortunately we had incredibly noisy neighbours with loud music and loud voices. We did contact reception but there are no staff on site to deal with issues like that."

"Centrally accessible (airport bus stop and station across the street), which had its downfalls especially in the evening (various groupings hanging out around the area). Good breakfast for Italy - not just the sweet staff!! the design is rather sad, but this we knew based on the photos. Hotel rooms would be much more enjoyable if they simply painted it white. "
