George and his family were very welcoming and helpful! George gave us home made cookies, a fruit plate and bottle of raki when we arrived to the hotel, which was very kind. It was easy to be in touch with them, they answered to messages quickly and helped us. The room was clean and the area around the hotel was beautiful. Would definitely come back.

The apartment was excellent and the hosts were very helpful, generous and courteous. George provided us with a really helpful email with links to google maps for all the local beaches, visitor destinations and shops. We were welcomed with fresh veges and eggs from their own garden and the supply of fresh figs kept coming throughout our stay. The apartment was well maintained and cleaned on a regular basis. The cooking facilities with big fridge, oven, four rings and microwave were excellent, and the supply of and pots, pans and utensils much better than most self-catering apartments. It was lovely to sit on the balcony in the evenings and see the sun go down behind the olive trees. It is about a mile from the nearest beaches and restaurants etc so access to a car or bike is necessary. There is a regular bus service into Chania which is about a 30 minute drive. Also well located for Chania airport. Ideal place if you want to have a relaxing holiday. Well done George and his mum and dad for making us so welcome

Abbiamo soggiornato nel mese di luglio nell'appartamento Deluxe per due settimane. L'appartamento é dotato di tutto ciò che serve per soggiornarvi al meglio. Servizio frequente di pulizia e cambio lenzuola e asciugamani. George e la sua famiglia sono persone speciali, ci hanno accolto con calore e disponibilità. La bella spiaggia di "Zorba" si trova vicino alla struttura così come un paio di supermarket e diverse taverne e, con l'auto a disposizione, é possibile visitare le altre spiagge splendide presenti in questa zona. Speriamo di tornare a Creta e soggiornare ancora qui!

Such kind, welcoming hosts - nothing was too much trouble and little treats and gifts from the hens and garden during the week made it very special. Spotlessly clean apartment and quiet location, a short walk from the beautiful bay of Stavros next to its stunning mountain. We were there at the very end of the season: wonderful weather and few tourists even in Chania centre - a perfect week of relaxation. casa confortevole ad 1,5 Km circa dalla spiaggia

Casa molto confortevole, pulita e ben tenuta. Dotata di accessori cucina, bagno e camera. I proprietari, una bella famiglia di 3 persone, i genitori molto cordiali e George, un simpatico e laborioso ragazzo molto disponibile, se pur non parlando italiano, si è impegnato ad imparare alcune parole per comunicare con noi che non conosciamo molto bene l’inglese. Non passava giorno, che ci offrissero frutta, verdura, e raki, un liquore greco sempre con discrezione e rispettando la nostra privacy. Nei paraggi a parte qualche locale e taverna non c’è granché, pertanto per uscire la sera si deve andare a Chania, che dista circa 15 km, ma ne vale la pena andarci perché è una cittadina turistica molto originale con il porto veneziano molto suggestivo, soprattutto la sera con le luci.

Hospitality with a capital H on a terrific spot

We, a family of four from the Netherlands enjoyed our stay at this spacious apartment tremendously. George is a wonderful host, and so are his parents. When we arrived, the fridge was packed with fruits (watermelon, strawberries, grapes, all from their own garden), his mum baked some delicious cookies, and of course there was the traditional raki. The apartment was superclean, and with a beautiful view on the mountains, it is also really really quiet. The balcony is great, you can eat outside, but if you prefer also in the house. Bedrooms are comfortable and big. It is a 10 minutes walk to the beach and only 5 minutes to the supermarket (to buy fresh bread in the morning). We recommend going to the monastery nearby, to Irene for dinner, Chania, and the Samaria gorge. But most of all we recommend other people to visit George’s house, because of his great hospitality. If we come back to Crete, we certainly book this place again! Thank you so much, George and family!

Wonderful people, wonderful property

Staying at Skamagkas G. Apartments is equivalent to being warmly welcomed into a new family. The property is immaculate, and has amenities not found in many places nearby including screens on the windows to limit the number of mosquitoes coming into the room at night. The room I stayed in was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Skamagkas is not on the beach itself, but it is very close to the beach, and I found the welcoming atmosphere and mosquito protection more than made up for the lack of sea views. (One might indeed question how much you need to look at the sea while you sleep?) My only regret is that I couldn't stay with these lovely people for a longer period. I can recommend them without reservations to friends and family alike, and if I'm ever back in the area they will be my first and only choice for places to stay! Thank you Skamagkas G. Apartments!

Comfortable, well-located, with friendly hosts

Our family holiday at Skamagkas apartments was great. We had a very warm welcome from George and parents. Even before our trip, George sent travel directions from the airport. He also gave us a load of great suggestions for places to visit. Especially enjoyed the super-calm bays at Stavros and Marathi, also Chania town, Aghia Triada and other monasteries nearby, and the botanical gardens. It's advisable to have your own transport to get around as public transport is limited. Roads are very scenic but need to be driven with care. Further afield there are some spectacular beaches, mountain gorges and archaeological sites (e.g. Knossos palace and museum at Heraklion). Overall, we thoroughly recommend this accommodation and would definitely like to return one day!

Amazing family-run apartments in Crete

My wife, my 6 year old son and I stayed in the Skamagkas apartments for 15 days. Upon arrival, we were personally received by George even though we came very late at night. The apartment was spacious, clean and fully-equipped. There was a nice balcony/terrace facing the orchard which was perfect to enjoy a nice dinner outdoors when the temperature outside went down. George and his family did everything in their hand to ensure we had the best possible time during our holiday in Crete. We were often given fresh fruits and veggies from their garden as well as fresh eggs, traditional sesame cookies and cakes. George also provided us with a detailed list of the best beaches near the apartments, recommendations to move around Chania and suggestion for eating. Furthermore, we were able to borrow beach towels and an umbrella from them to go to the beach. We rented a car for the entire period of our stay, which in our opinion is a must, particularly in the hottest months of summer, and we were able to access amazing beaches both near and far from the apartments, as well as other places of interest.

We stayed in the apartment for a week and everything was perfect, we had great time there. Rooms are big and very cleaned. The Staff is lovely Absolutely recommended

Toppenboende med utmärkt service!

Vi bodde på Skamagkas Apartments under 8 dagar och kan intyga att standarden var mycket hög. Värden Geroge Skamkagas var ytterst vänlig och såg till att vi hade en bra vistelse. Rena stora lägenheter, bekvämt avstånd till Chania, fina stränder och resturanger. George, som pratar perfekt engelska, hjälpte oss med scooter uthyrning, tips, taxis med mera. Vi kan varmt rekommendera Skamagkas till par som söker ett lite mer privat boende.

Vi hade en fantastisk vistelse hos Skamagkas Apartments men en härlig personal som kom och välkomnade oss personligen vid ankomst. Hade en kort "lägenhets-tur" och visade hur allt fungerade osv. De bjöd på hembakade kakor, samt handplockade grönsaker och jordgubbar vilket var mycket uppskattat. De såg alltid till att vi hade det bra, tipsade oss om aktiviteter och hjälpte även till med att planera dagsturer för oss runt ön. Vi var mycket nöjda och ett stort tack till George som såg till att vår vistelse var magisk. Thank you George! // Camille & Tim

Splendido appartamento .

Appartamento spazioso e molto confortevole dotato di Wi-Fi. L'ingresso-salotto è ampio e dotato di TV . La cucina è super attrezzata (c'è il forno, microonde, bollitore, macchina per il caffè). Aria condizionata e le camere hanno entrambe un terrazzino, oltre alla terrazza principale dove si può anche mangiare tranquillamente in quattro! Parcheggio al coperto all'interno del cortile. A completare il tutto l'accoglienza del proprietario molto cortese e disponibile (anche ad accompagnare gli ospiti all'aeroporto!) Piacevole anche trovare delle coccole all'accoglienza (marmellate fatte in casa, uva e raki). Vivamente consigliato.

Nice, clean and quiet apartments with great staff!

From the first day to the last, George and his parents did all they could to make us as comfortable as possible, and they succeeded brilliantly! They went out of their way to surprise us with vegetables from their garden, freshly baked cake, stuffed vegetables and tasty homemade drinks. He lent us a beach umbrella, gave tips for good beaches to visit and helped us plan our trip to the Samaria gorge. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and clean. Towels and linnen were changed every couple of days and the apartment was kept clean. It was also in a very quiet neighbourhood so there isn't any noise at night. Everything is provided to be able to cook in the apartment, should you want to. Again, thanks to George and his family this holiday was amazing and in the end we felt sad to have to leave for home...

Dejligt lille komplex, meget idyllisk.

Luften var ren og alt var stille og roligt, kunne mærke at man er på en ø med fugle og dufte og natur. Med parkering, og god sikkerhed.
