The hotels, like this one, are charming but dated, comfortable and quiet. We selected this hotel because of its proximity to the ferry (walking distance) and trails to our touring destinations. "Unexpected late check-in fee with no prior disclosure. We arrived at the hotel a little after 9 PM on Tuesday, August 11. At around 8:20 PM, while we were still on the way, we called the hotel to request an extra blanket. We also told them we were still driving and would arrive in about 40 minutes. The staff simply said “okay” and never mentioned any late check-in fee. When we arrived, the front desk asked us to pay an additional charge. The total was different from our original Expedia...

"L’Anse a l’eau is somewhat dated but very well- maintained. Rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. It is located very close to where the ferry line-up is located. I suspect the upper rooms backing on the highway may be noisy, although, that said, Tadoussac Main Street is very noisy during the tourist season. No breakfast service so you must walk (15 mins) to a restaurant open for breakfast. There is a Take-out Boulangerie across from the motel which is usually open from 0700 to 1700,...
