Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of handy tips that will get your Allende escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a pleasure if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean pair of socks and a good read. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) lurking in your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive products, such as fuel and fireworks, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main concern when choosing what to wear on board. Loose clothing is a wise option, as are roomy, closed-toe shoes.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To reduce your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
