Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well prepared. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Aralik escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack in your passport, important documents, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a tablet filled with your favourite movies are some great options. If you hope to take a quick snooze, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a few toiletry items so you'll step off the plane looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main priority when deciding what to wear on your flight. Loose clothing is a smart choice, as are flat, slip-on shoes.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
