We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our top tips and you'll be cruising through the airport and enjoying Ardmore in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack in your passport, travel docs, cash and medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a tablet crammed with your favourite movies are always good options. If you plan to catch more than just forty winks, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll step off the plane feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and fireworks, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as possible. Choose shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to take a pullover in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
