We've rounded up all the info you need to make your journey as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be speeding through airport security and having a blast in Banjul in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack your passport, travel docs, wallet and daily medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the time. A juicy book and a laptop crammed with your favourite shows are some wonderful options. If you hope to catch forty winks, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll touchdown looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to be as comfortable as possible. Choose flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to take a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To reduce your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your lower limbs often.
