Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well enough. We've put together a list of handy hints that will help get your Bude holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having an amazing flight experience is to pack ahead. First up, the essentials: passport, travel docs, credit cards and any vital medications. Next, take on board items that'll help while away those hours, like some electronic gadgets or a thrilling book. It's also wise to bring your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones. And of course, don't forget to chuck in toiletries like a toothbrush, facial wipes and a spare set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a sharp object hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable substances, such as fuel and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and pick shoes that are flat and easy to take on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
