We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be breezing through the airport and enjoying Carlsbad before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack your passport, important documents, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a phone crammed with your favourite shows are some wonderful options. If you hope to catch a few z's, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll step off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by layering up, and wear closed-toe, flat shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
