We've pulled together all the info you need to make your journey an enjoyable experience. Follow our tips and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and seeing the best of Cavendish in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a great experience if you've got all the right stuff. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a magazine or two. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a pocket knife lurking in one of the compartments of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable products, such as bleach and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your number one priority when choosing what to wear on your flight. Loose clothing is a sensible option, as are enclosed shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
