We've rounded up all the info you need to make your journey as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be zooming through airport security and having a ball in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a sharp object hiding in one of the compartments of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by dressing in layers, and opt for flat, slightly roomy footwear like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
