Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well enough. Check out these handy hints that will help get your Chichibu escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a great experience if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any daily medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to feel as comfortable as you can. Dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to pack a cardigan in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Go for a pair of well-fitting, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the journey. Leave the stilettos and heavy boots in your main luggage.
- A serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular leg and foot exercises in your seat helps to prevent this occurring. Wearing a pair of compression socks or tights also helps reduce your risk.
