Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well organised. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Clear Lake escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having a pain-free travel experience is to be prepared. So, let's start with the basics: passport, travel docs, cash and medications. Next, bring items that'll help keep you occupied, like some electronic devices or a thrilling novel. It's also smart to bring your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earphones. Last but not least, be sure to toss in toiletries like a toothbrush, deodorant and a fresh change of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of an airplane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and remember to take a sweater as it can get chilly in the cabin on long-haul flights. Flat, enclosed shoes are also a good choice.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long-haul flights is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression tights and socks are another easy way to help minimize this risk.
