Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well organised. We've put together a list of handy tips that will help get your Delft escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you've got all the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and something to read. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, your medications and maybe a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a sharp object hiding in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable substances, such as fuel and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and pick shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to pull on and off.
- The result of prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect some passengers on long-distance flights. Reduce the risks by staying hydrated, keeping your legs and feet moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
