Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well organised. We've made a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Ekibastuz holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack in your passport, official ID, cash and vital medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a laptop filled with your favourite movies are some terrific options. If you intend to take a short nap, a comfy neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you step off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by dressing in layers, and wear flat, slightly roomy shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
