If you're not prepared, airports and flying can be testing. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks and enjoy a hassle-free start to your getaway in Fecamp. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be easy if you bring the right gear. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find room in your bag for your laptop, a charger, any medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a sharp object lurking in one of the compartments of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to feel as comfortable as possible. Layer yourself up in natural-fibre clothing and remember to bring a sweater in case it gets cool in the cabin. Always go with well-fitting, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the flight. Leave the stilettos and hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- A serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity. Doing regular foot and leg exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this occurring. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression tights or socks can also help.
