Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've planned ahead. We've made a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Gorizia escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having a worry-free flight experience is to plan ahead. Start with the essentials: passport, boarding pass, bank cards and daily medications. Next, bring items that'll help keep you entertained, like some electronic devices or a magazine. You'll also want to bring your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones. Finally, be sure to toss in toiletry items like a toothbrush, deodorant and a clean T-shirt.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to feel as comfortable as you can. Opt for shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and remember to take a jacket in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
