Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you prepare well enough. Check out these handy tips that will get your Gotemba escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a pleasure if you carry the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a good read. Next, find room in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as possible. Go for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to bring a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to wander around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
