No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of handy hints that will get your Kata holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack in your passport, important documents, bank cards and medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a phone crammed with your favourite movies are some wonderful options. If you intend to catch up on some sleep, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll step off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your highest priority when deciding what to wear on your flight. Loose clothing is a smart option, as are flat, closed-toe shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
