No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy tips that will get your Kikuyu escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a great experience if you've got all the right things. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and something to read. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a Swiss Army knife lurking in one of the compartments of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable products, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as possible. Layer yourself up in natural fibers and don't forget to pack a cardigan in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Opt for a pair of roomy, flat shoes as your feet may swell during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your luggage.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. There's plenty you can do to reduce your risk. Wear a pair of compression socks, drink plenty of water and move your legs and feet. Walk around the cabin when possible or perform some simple exercises in your seat.
