Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Koksijde holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you pack the right things. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and something to read. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, your important medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) lurking in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable products, like aerosols and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Go for shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and remember to take a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To lessen your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression tights or socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
