We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be speeding through the airport and exploring Kotu in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a comfortable experience if you bring the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a fresh set of clothes and something to read. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, your important medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a Swiss Army knife lurking in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable products, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and pick shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to take on and off.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. To lessen your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your legs and feet often.
