If you're not prepared, travelling can be overwhelming. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these useful tips for a stress-free start to your time in Lake Geneva. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a cruisy experience if you've got all the right things. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and something to read. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your phone and charger, your medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between airlines, the general guide to follow is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes box cutters, razor blades, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like bows and arrows, and items that could injure passengers, such as firearms and swords, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Opt for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to bring a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
