We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a pleasant experience. Follow our top tips and you'll be speeding through the airport and having a ball in Maimón before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a great experience if you take the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a good read. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any daily medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and matches, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes in the cabin by layering up, and pick flat, enclosed footwear like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
