Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've compiled a list of essential travel tips that will get your Marloth Park escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be easy if you pack the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare set of clothes and a few magazines. Next, find room in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) hiding in the bottom of your hand luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive goods, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to feel as comfortable as you can. Go for shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to take a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
