We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be breezing through airport security and seeing the best of Mende in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a great experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a magazine or two. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a pocket knife lurking in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive products, such as fuel and fireworks, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes in the cabin by donning layers, and pick flat, closed-toe shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to wander around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
