We've rounded up all the info you need to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be breezing through airport security and having a ball in Mirihi in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be easy if you take the right stuff. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean pair of socks and something to read. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, remember to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and fuels, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The answer to a comfortable flight can be as simple as your choice in clothes. Prepare for temperature changes by layering up. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin gets too cold. Shoes like stilettos, flip flops and lace-up boots are best left in your checked suitcase. Even though they may be your favourites, opt for flat, closed-toed footwear like slip-ons. Your feet will appreciate it.
- A condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing foot and leg exercises in your seat helps to prevent this developing. Wearing a good pair of compression socks or tights is also recommended.
