If you're not prepared, travelling can be overwhelming. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks and enjoy a worry-free start to your time in Mission. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a great experience if you bring the right things. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare set of clothes and something to read. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any daily medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and gasoline, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to feel as comfortable as possible. Layer up in natural-fibre clothing and take a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin. Opt for a pair of well-fitting, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the journey. Leave the stilettos and heavy boots in your luggage.
- A condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation. Doing foot and leg exercises in your seat helps to prevent this occurring. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks also helps reduce your risk.
