Depending on where you're coming from, your flight to Naples could be completely painless or it could go on forever. We've pulled together some useful hints that will help you start your next great adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a stress-free experience if you bring the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare pair of socks and a magazine or two. Secondly, leave space in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between airlines, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, blades, fuel and fireworks. Sporting equipment like ski poles, and objects that could harm other people, such as swords and guns, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to feel as comfortable as you can. Pick a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to bring a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
