We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as enjoyable as possible. Follow our top tips and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and having a blast in North Pole in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and something to read. Secondly, find room in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, your medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items can differ between air carriers, the general guide to follow is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes tools, metal cutlery, fuels and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like bows and arrows, and objects that could injure passengers, such as firearms and ammunition, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and choose shoes that are flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
