Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of handy hints that will get your Oruro holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a cruisy experience if you've got all the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a good read. Secondly, leave space in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and don't forget to bring a sweater as it tends to get cool inside the cabin during longer flights. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a good choice too.
- Caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a serious condition that can affect some passengers during long flights. But the great news is there are proven ways to reduce the risk of developing it. Keep your fluids up, wander through the cabin as much as you can and wear compression tights or socks.
