If you're not prepared, air travel can be challenging. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks and enjoy a comfortable start to your time in Oswiecim. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you take the right stuff. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a good read. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, your medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a pocket knife lurking in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive substances, such as fuel and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as possible. Go for easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to bring a pullover in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
