If you're not prepared, airports and flying can be tough. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy tips and enjoy a pleasant start to your holiday in Pangkor Laut. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a great experience if you carry the right gear. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a good novel. Next, find a spot in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of an airplane are not the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and don't forget to bring a sweater as the temperature can drop inside the cabin on long-haul flights. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a good idea too.
- A condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a good pair of compression tights or socks also helps reduce your risk.
