Depending on where you're coming from, your flight to Pilot Point could be completely painless or it could go on forever. We've pulled together some handy travel tips that will help you start your next great escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a great experience if you pack the right gear. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh change of clothes and something to read. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, any medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) lurking in the bottom of your hand luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive products, such as bleach and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The goal here is to make yourself as comfortable as you can. Layer up in natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to pack a pullover just in case you get cold. Always go with roomy, flat shoes as your feet may swell during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long-distance flying is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression tights and socks are also a great idea to help lower your risk.
