Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're prepared. Take a peek at these handy tips and tricks that will get your Saint-Jean-de-Monts holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you bring the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a clean pair of socks and a good novel. Secondly, leave space in your bag for your phone and charger, your important medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of your plane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and don't forget to bring a cardigan as the temperature can drop inside the cabin on long-haul flights. Closed-toed, flat shoes are also a wise idea.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long-haul flights is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, make the most of every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression tights and socks are also a great idea to help minimize this risk.
