If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be tough. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy hints for a pleasant start to your time in Sandy Bay.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a stress-free experience if you bring the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a sharp object hiding in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable substances, such as fuel and matches, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your priority when selecting what to wear on your flight. Consider your choice of footwear carefully too, as swelling of the feet and ankles are a common occurrence. Slightly roomy, flat shoes work well.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There's plenty you can do to reduce your risk. Wear compression socks, drink plenty of water and move your legs and feet. Do a lap or two of the cabin or try out some simple stretches in your seat.
