- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you take the right stuff. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a clean set of clothes and a good novel. Next, find room in your bag for your laptop, a charger, medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, remember to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main priority when deciding what to wear during your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a smart choice, as are flat, enclosed shoes.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To reduce your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
