Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you prepare well enough. We've put together a list of handy hints that will get your Urbino holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, make room in your bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by donning layers, and opt for flat, slightly roomy shoes like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
