Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're prepared. We've put together a list of essential travel tips that will get your Wat Sing holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, make room in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between airlines, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes box cutters, razor blades, spray paint and fireworks. Sporting equipment like ski poles, and items that could harm passengers, such as swords and batons, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Opt for shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and remember to bring a pullover in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
