If you're poorly prepared, travelling can be challenging. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these helpful hints for a hassle-free start to your time in Zermatt. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a pleasure if you take the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare pair of socks and something to read. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, drills, spray paint and flares. Sporting equipment like ice skates, and objects that could injure passengers, such as pepper spray and firearms, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and go for shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to remove.
- Caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect some passengers during long-haul flights. Reduce the risks by staying hydrated, keeping your legs and feet moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
