The photos online are not true to what the rooms really look like. The photos make it out to be clean, modern, and updated, when in reality it was old and slightly rundown. We stayed in the superior room with kitchenette which looks a lot bigger in the photos online but is small in reality. Our room had an odd smell when we first checked in but it went away after a while. The bed was firm but the pillows were plush. We had requested housekeeping during our trip and had to call down twice in order for someone to actually come and clean our room, and when they did they still forgot to stock our toilet paper so we had to call again for that. Then they still never came so we had to call an additional time. Upon checkout, we had used their bag holding service while we went out and got breakfast. Once we got back, it took them 30+ minutes to get our bags back to us, which was pretty frustrating as we had a plane to catch.
Overall, the responsiveness of housekeeping and other staff was pretty poor. The room itself was fine after the initial shock of it really not looking like how it was portrayed online.
Really the location is what you are paying for. It was convenient as this hotel is walking distance to a lot of attractions and to the subway lines. There was also complimentary water bottles which was a plus as well. I would not stay here again now that I know, but the convenience of the location was great if you have a lot of things you need to do in Downtown Chicago.
