Baymont by Wyndham Jamestown Conference Center & Water Park
2/10 Terrible
"I had 0 hot water. Called at 6am for help on the matter no one came so I called again at 6:40 and was told I would just needed to be patient and the was hung up on. By 7:10 I gave up waiting and washed my hair in ice cold water then used to coffee maker to at least have so hot water to wash my hands. I needed to be on the road so I couldn’t wait any longer.
The whole point of me staying here was to have somewhere to sleep and shower. In the middle of my 36 hour drive! I was only able to achieve 1 of those things."
"Check-in Friday afternoon was quick and painless. However, we were notified right away that the pool would be unavailable for our stay (cue disappointed kids) and that there was some construction going on.
What wasn't explained was that the construction would be on every floor, blocking access to stair wells, commencing early every morning (including Sunday) and it would be loud, dusty, and intrusive. We came out of our room at one point to a person ripping wallpaper off the wall right next to our door. When we left on Sunday, we had to roll our suitcases over a tarp covered in dust from ceiling plaster removal - it was a total mess.
Totally understand that hotels need a refresh - but this really should be done on a floor by floor basis and you shouldn't book guests on that floor while it's being done.
Breakfast was solid as usual for a Holiday Inn Express - we purely stay for the rolls.
Next time, there should be a heads up email letting you know what the status of the hotel is so that you can decide whether or not you want to stay in an active construction zone."
